The Cybersecurity Engineer supports a variety of critical cybersecurity initiatives. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage robust security solutions, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Valley First’s systems and networks from emerging threats.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security architectures and systems to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to identify potential threats and security weaknesses.
- Develop and implement appropriate security controls, policies, and procedures in compliance with industry standards (NIST, CIS).
- Perform incident response activities, including investigating security breaches and mitigating threats.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents across the environment.
- Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and developers to integrate security best practices into Valley First’s systems and networks, including all stages of the SDLC.
- Ensure security patches and updates are applied in a timely manner and manage security vulnerabilities.
- Participate / conduct penetration testing, red team exercises, and systems audits to assess the security posture of Valley First’s systems and networks.
- Maintain and improve security documentation, including incident reports, security policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies ensuring Valley First’s defenses are continuously improved.
- Support the development of security training and awareness programs for staff and members.
- May work after hours and weekends as necessary and directed by management.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
- Four-year degree and/or related industry certifications.
- Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, Linux, and IOS.
- Experience in PC usage and hardware/software support. TCP / IP and Networking troubleshooting experience.
- Must have a basic understanding of Windows Operating systems and Windows Active Directory.
- Powershell or other scripting language / automation skills are desirable.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems over a WAN at remote locations
Pay Range and Schedule:
- This position is a Grade 14, with a pay rate ranging from $47.01 to $70.52 per hour
- The anticipated pay rate for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience
- The pay rates listed above are based upon the geographic location of our Administrative Offices in Modesto, CA using the greater Central Valley area for our pay range calculations
- Full Time, typically 36-40 hours per week
- Schedule will be based around hours of operation, which are as follows:
- Monday to Friday- 8:30am to 6pm
- Flexibility to occasionally work early or late hours, typically with advance notice.
