Digital Consultants is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support a government customer. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting network, system, and application vulnerability and risk assessments, as well as developing effective risk mitigation strategies to enhance the security posture of the organization.


Duties to include:

  • Conduct thorough vulnerability and risk assessments on networks, systems, and applications, identifying potential security weaknesses and threats.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies tailored to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of secure implementation principles for firewalls, routers, switches, hubs, proxy servers, and security servers to ensure robust security measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve security issues and improve overall security architecture.
  • Monitor security infrastructure through tools like Splunk, Nessus, and Sentinel to detect and address potential threats.
  • Manage security configurations across Active Directory, firewalls, and database systems, ensuring system integrity and data confidentiality.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices for system and network security configuration and maintenance.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures.
Requirements
  •  Clearance Required: Top Secret


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or additional four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.

Certifications: 

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISM, CISA, CCNA Security, GSEC, CCSP, CySA+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.) are advantageous.


Experience

  • Overall 10 years of experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive technical experience in conducting network, system, and application vulnerability and risk assessments.
  • Proven experience in developing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of secure implementation principles for firewalls, routers, switches, hubs, proxy servers, and security servers
  • Strong problem-solving and resolution skills with the ability to analyze complex security issues.
